St. James Church Murillo Invites everyone to its annual Pancake Supper, with pancakes, sausages, dessert and refreshments, on Shrove Tuesday, February 12 from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. at the church in Morrow Hall. Good will offering. Proceeds to church outreach. Come and Feel Our Country Warmth.
2. All are welcome to come to St. Thomas’ Shrove Tuesday Pancake Supper put on by the 6th St. Thomas’ Cub Group; Tuesday, Feb. 12th starting at 5:30 p.m.; by freewill donation.
3. Camp Gitchigomee’s Annual General Meeting will be held February 19 at St. Michael’s Anglican Church starting at 7 p.m. There will be 4 vacancies on the Board of Directors, created by the Term of Office limitations. These include 3 at-large members and the Treasurer. Each Director may only serve a maximum of two consecutive two-year terms, making it a four-year limit (which is good news for volunteers!). The Board of Directors is elected by the general membership, and then meets separately to elect President and Vice President from within that group. Directors must be: at least 21 years old, not bankrupt, a member of the Camp (annual fee is $5), be an active member of a Christian Church, recognize and support the objects, mission and values of the Camp, and possess a clean Police Records Check. If you are interested in Camp Gitchigomee’s future and would like to help shape that future, please consider joining the Board of Directors for the basic two-year term. 4. The Royal College of Canadian Organists (RCCO) is presenting Windsor organist, David Palmer, in an organ recital at First-Wesley United Church (corner of Brodie and Myles Streets) on Friday, Feb. 22 at 8 p.m. Tickets are $15; Seniors/Students $10 and can be purchased from Patricia Mark @ 623-8594 or Nancy Wallace @ 623-4907. Refreshments will be served after the concert with an opportunity to meet David Palmer, one of Canada’s outstanding organ recitalists.
5. Parish of West Thunder Bay & 1st Thunder Scouts Spaghetti Supper will be held on Sunday, February 24 from 4:00 – 6:00 p.m. at the Rosslyn Village Community Centre. Sit down or takeout – please bring your container for takeout. $8 for adults, children ages 6 – 12 are $3, and children 5 and under are $1.
