Camp Gitchigomee Work Weekend
We’re planning to take care of some maintenance items at Camp Gitchigomee this Labour Day weekend, and hope you will consider coming out to lend a hand.
A few things you should know:
– if you plan to stay overnight, and wish to reserve a specific cabin, please contact Jim Sutton at 622-6263. The Director’s cabin and the First Aid post are spoken for already.
– bring your own food, except for Saturday supper, which will be provided. We will also provide drinks, snacks and fruit all weekend. Please let Jim know if you plan to come out, so that we may plan food quantities
– please don’t bring any nuts – including peanut butter, as the residues may affect our “nut free” status.
– a few projects we hope to tackle:
– fabricate a new landing at the north dining hall entrance
– install new double doors at both ends of the dining hall
– re-roof the green/white cabin
– cut up, split and store firewood
– paint the canoe shed
– do some brushing along the roadway
We hope everyone that comes out will also enjoy some down time on/in the lake, around the campfire on the beach……….
