DIOCESE OF ALGOMA ELECTS 11TH BISHOP

Delegates of the Episcopal Electoral Synod in Sault Ste. Marie have elected the Venerable Anne Germond as their 11th Bishop of Algoma. She was elected on the 6th Ballot today, October 14, 2016.
Bishop-elect Germond is currently the Incumbent at Church of the Ascension in Sudbury and Archdeacon of Sudbury-Manitoulin.

Please read the report and provide your feedback to Chair Scott Martin or your parish rep (contact information is on p. 16 of the report).
Be informed and share your thoughts on the best model of ministry for your parish.
The Anglican and Evangelical Lutheran Group (AELG) will be holding a Two-Bit Auction in support of their bursary fund on Friday, October 21st at Hilldale Lutheran Church, 321 Hilldale Road starting at 7:00 pm. Door are open at 6:30 pm for basket viewing. Tickets are $5.00 and are available at the door or through AELG members.

This day-long workshop will expose participants to four things:
The religious and cultural backgrounds of the Bible’s New Testament;
The different genres of the New Testament;
The content of the New Testament; and
Some reading strategies for approaching the study of the New Testament.
As a result, participants should leave the workshop as more effective, proficient and faithful readers of the New Testament.
