A Listening Skills workshop will be held 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. Wednesday, October 17 at the Seafarers’ Centre (Keefer Terminal, 100 Main St.), led by Canon Ed Swayze and there is no charge. This workshop will teach active listening skills including paraphrase and perception check. Listening is a foundation for good relationships; the ability to hear what a person is communicating and confirm what has been communicated allows people to feel that they have been understood and move onto dealing with their issues. Within the church, good listening is the foundation of good ministry and leadership. The workshop will be short talks followed by practise using the skill taught. Anyone who is interested in participating is welcome; but there is a limit of 12; and an RSVP to flyingangel@tbaytel.net would be appreciated.
