1. Help Wanted: The Anglican parish of St. Michael and All Angels requires a caretaker. 10 hours per week with additional hours as required. Duties include vacuuming, washing floors, dusting, regular maintenance of church facilities and some yard work. 2. St. Stephen’s Anglican Church, 494 Leslie Avenue (at Arundel), is having a Spaghetti Supper on Sunday, April 15. Take-out is $8.00 and available from 4:00 to 5:00 pm (bring your own container) Sit-down is at 5:30 pm. Adults – $10.00, children under 9 – $6.00. Spaghetti/meat balls or extra meat balls. 3. Just a reminder, tickets need to be purchased by April 15 for the Mission to Seafarers Annual Fund-Raising Dinner to be held on April 20. Each Anglican parish has a Mission rep who is selling tickets or call the Seafarers Centre 344-8241. The Mission to Seafarers will hold its Annual Fund-Raising Dinner on Friday, April 20 at the Current River Community Centre, 450 Dewe Ave. (off Arundel St.) 5:30 p.m. Symposium, 6:00 p.m. Dinner, Adults $25.00, Children 12 and under $12.00. Buffet with Cash Bar (Wine).

4. Please join the Mission to Seafarers and St. Stephen’s Anglican Church at 10 a.m. on Sunday April 22 for a 50th Anniversary Eucharist to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the first season of operations for the Mission to Seafarers. Rev’d Robert Lumley was the first Chaplain to the Missions to Seamen and also the Incumbent of St. Stephen’s. Archbishop Terence Finlay, the Episcopal Visitor to the Mission to Seafarers, will be the celebrant.

5. “We All Need a Lift” Spaghetti Supper at St. Michael’s on April 21 at 5:30 p.m. Come and enjoy spaghetti, meatballs, salad, tea, coffee, juice. Make your own Sundae for dessert! Tickets are $12.50 for adults and $5 for children under 11. Proceeds go toward a passenger lift at St Michael’s.

6. You are invited to the Anglican Church Women’s Spring Deanery Meeting Tuesday, April 24 at 10 am St. Mary’s Church, Nipigon. Our Guest Speaker will be the Reverend Nancy Ringham. Lunch will be provided. A bus has been arranged. Pickups at 8 am at Northwood Plaza; 8:15 am at St. Michael and All Angels, 675 Red River Rd. and 8:20 at St. Stephen’s Leslie & Arundel. 9. Parish of West Thunder Bay and 1st Murillo Beavers, Cubs and Scouts will hold a Spaghetti Supper on Sunday, April 29 from 4-6 p.m. at the Rosslyn Community Centre, Sit down or Take-out, $8 adults, $3 children. (Please bring your own container for take-out)

10. “ENHANCING RELATIONSHIPS”: Thunder Bay-North Shore Anglicans 2012 Annual Deanery Day will be held on Saturday May 5, 9:30 am – 2:30 pm at St. Paul’s Anglican Church, 808 Ridgeway Street, across from McKellar (Wheelchair Accessible). Speakers: Bishop Stephen Andrews, Bishop of Algoma, and Bishop Lydia Mamakwa, Bishop of Keewatin, on “Enhancing Relations with First nations.” $10/person: includes Coffee/Tea, Muffins, and Lasagna Lunch. 2. An Announcement from your Deanery Communications Committee: Watch for the Easter Spiritual Gatherings, a supplemental tabloid production of The Chronicle-Journal, published Sunday April 1, 2012. The back page is a group ad including all of our Anglican churches in the Deanery. The Rev. Ed Swayze has written an editorial on our behalf. Each church is listed by telephone number, so churches are encouraged to have their voicemail message advertising Holy Week and Easter services. The new deanery website address is included in the ad ThunderBay-NorthshoreAnglicans.com. We encourage you to spread the Good News and include your service information on the deanery website. Please speak with your member of the Communications Committee. May your Holy Week lead you to a joyous Easter!

3. Spaghetti Supper Fund Raiser for Thunder Bay Scouting & Grey Wolf Scout Camp will be held on Sunday, April 1 at Wesley United Church. Two sittings: 5 – 6 p.m. & 6 – 7 p.m; Take Out 3:30 – 4:30 p.m. Bring your Own Containers. Tickets – $10.00 Adults; Children 3 – 12 $5.00; Under 3 free.

4. A joint Anglican Lutheran service of Holy Communion will be held at Hilldale Lutheran Church on Tues. April 3 at 7 p.m. The Ven. Deborah Kraft is the preacher and The Rev. Arleen Berg is the celebrant. There will be a joint choir and all clergy of both communions are invited to robe.
