Bishop Anne Germond has been elected to serve as the next Metropolitan of the Province of Ontario. Elected on the first ballot.
Please refer to the Diocese of Algoma website or our Facebook page to see photos as she takes the podium for the first time at Provincial Synod in Ottawa.
The Bishop promises to call Anglicans in Ontario to “hold Christ centre in our heart” as a Church. As delegate Marie Loewen notes, soon-to-be Archbishop Anne “…has called Algoma to the heart of Christ and now her greater call will be to continue to ‘seek first the Kingdom of God’ and call us to do so with her.”
We are proud of you, Bishop Anne, and you are in our prayers as you serve as Archbishop of Algoma and Metropolitan of Ontario.

‘Perhaps, indeed, that is what “holy scripture” really is – not a calm, serene list if truths to be learned or commands to be obeyed, but a jagged book that forces you to grow up in your thinking as you grapple with it.’ ~ N T Wright
