1.      Grief and Bereavement Information Session– this Saturday 12th March 10 am – 12 noon at St Michael and All Angels Anglican Church. Led by the Rev’d Barb Fugelsang, who is a chaplain at the Hospice Unit at St Joseph’s Hospital. It is for anyone to learn more about how grief and loss impacts, what we can learn to help ourselves and assist others.

 

2.      9th Annual Lenten Retreat: “Called to Serve.” 9:15 am – 3:45 pm at Saturday, March 26 at St Michael’s Church, 675 Red River Rd. The retreat will be led by Sister Elizabeth of the Anglican Sisters of St. John the Divine. $25 per person. Lunch and snacks included. Wear comfy clothing and bring a blanket. 3.      Camp Gitchigomee Annual General Meeting will be held at St. Michael’s and All Angels Church Hall on March 22. 7:00 pm – Visit & gather handouts; 7:30 Meeting starts. Membership renewals close at 7:30.  

 

4.      Deanery Day will be held at St. Thomas Church, Thunder Bay, on April 2. Registration begins at 9:00 am with the events beginning at 9:30. Bishop Stephen will be in attendance and will speak in morning with other speakers in attendance in the afternoon. Cost for the day is $20 and lunch will be provided. We will be finished by 2:30 pm.

 

5.      The Excellence in Worship Committee for the Diocese would like to know what would be helpful for your parishes so we are asking this question: How do you see this committee being of assistance or encouragement to you in your congregation’s worship life? 6.      St. George’s Anglican Church, Thunder Bay, is celebrating 100 Years of God’s Faithfulness! 7.      SAVING JESUS:  Ever feel that Jesus is discarded by the Secular Left and kidnapped by the Christian Right? Then join us for Saving Jesus Redux, a 12-session DVD based study from Living the Questions, exploring what a credible Jesus looks like for the third millennium. Each 1½  hour session includes conversation around  readings in your participants guide, 30 minute video segment and guided discussion. Thursdays, 7:30 – 9 p.m. starting March 10 at St Michael’s. 8.      The Mission to Seafarers Fund-raising Dinner will be held 6:00 p.m. on Friday April 1 at the Current River Community Centre, 450 Dewe Ave. (off Arundel St.) Adults $25, Children 12 and under $12. Buffet with Cash Bar (Wine). Tickets must be purchased by March 26 from Mission to Seafarers Rep or call 344-8241. Please come and support this important outreach.

 

9.      The Alpha Course—an opportunity to explore the meaning of life in a relaxed, friendly setting. Each session includes a meal followed by a DVD talk and small group discussion. For anyone interested in exploring the Christian faith. 10 weeks. Cost $20 – includes course materials and meals. Wednesdays, March 16th to May 18th, 6:00 – 9:00 p.m. St. Thomas. 10.  St. John’s and St. Luke’s are sharing the balcony for the TBSO Pops concert “SymphRONica”, a jazz- fused experience featuring Ron Davis on piano. Date is Saturday, March 26, at 8 pm  at the Community Auditorium. Tickets are $15.00 and are available in the North Ward from St. John’s at 767-4566 (leave a message). In the South Ward, tickets are available from St. Luke’s at 622-1243 (office hours Tues. to Thurs. from 9 am to 3 pm).
